Prep, prepster, and preppy chic are words people use to describe my style, and until I organized my closet I didn’t think I was that preppy. For the most part my fashion choices are classic and simple. I try to avoid falling victim to season trends so getting dressed in the morning takes less time than most of my friends perceive it to. Here are my true prep essential items.

The Better Chocolate Chip Cookie

Such a classic, and yet I find so many people get it wrong. The perfect chocolate chip cookie should be petite with crisp edges and a soft middle. I don’t know where my local deli gets off selling huge crispy cookies that resemble hockey pucks more than they do cookies. I promise you the second I have my own home the smell of these decadent babies will always be lingering in the air.  

Just like the  I made not too long ago, I could hear my brother in the kitchen at all hours grabbing one or two to take back to his room. To the untrained eye he is a sensible and mature man, but I know better than to be fooled by his charming demeanor for he will always be my juvenile brother. 

The Better Peanut Buttery Cookie

Over the holiday break I learned that my very rational, very mature, older brother has the sweet tooth and will power of an 8 year old when it comes to cookies. Due to this revelation, I have become obsessed with perfecting the most classic cookies. I was very proud with the way these ones came out: crisp, buttery, and melt in your mouth with the perfect peanut flavor.
