The Better Martha's Wardrobe Essentials

July 19, 2013

Despite my love for Fashion Police and sifting through InStyle magazine, I don't consider myself to be a fashionista. Shopping is way too arduous and overwhelming for me to find it enjoyable. Honestly if I had it my way, my wardrobe would refresh itself occasionally without me ever having to step into a store. Unfortunately this will never be my reality, and since I do want to look presentable to society I just have to suck it up. However, I have found that keeping my wardrobe down to a few essentials limits the time I spend shopping and saves me time getting ready in the morning.

The Better Wardrobe Essentials for Spring

April 10, 2013

This week was the first time that it finally started looking like spring. Granted this weather is not expected to last long, but I can't help but get excited for what the higher temperature means: no parkas.

My school's campus is starting to look like a college brochure now that everyone is on the quad listening to music and playing frisbee.
Although the weatherman is telling us not to put away all our sweaters just yet, I'm already planning my warm weather wardrobe.

The Better Way to Get Dressed in a Pinch

September 27, 2012

Class has been in session for one month, and the days of me waking up an hour in advance to get ready are already long gone. It's because I'm far too lazy busy dedicating every extra minute to studying. But anyway, I have perfected my recipe for getting dressed in the morning; it takes less than 20 minutes and I still manage to look presentable to the public.

On most days I select a pair of jeans, a button down, a cardigan, and a light vest or jacket. Keeping most things neutral and accessories simple also helps to speed up the process. My large Michael Kors bag serves as my backpack; my watch is necessary for calculating how much more of a boring class I have to suffer through; and the aviators hide lack of sleep/an unmade-up face.
I would just like to say that I did own a pair of smoking slippers long before I saw them in the magazines. They are a classic comfort, but I hate looking like I'm following a trend. Therefore I hope the smoking slipper fad dies quickly.

Do you guys have tips for getting dressed in a pinch?

The Better Wardrobe of a True Prep

April 09, 2012

Prep, prepster, and preppy chic are words people use to describe my style, and until I organized my closet I didn’t think I was that preppy. For the most part my fashion choices are classic and simple. I try to avoid falling victim to season trends so getting dressed in the morning takes less time than most of my friends perceive it to. Here are my true prep essential items.
